DIY Veggie Tales Toy

If you like to talk to tomatoes… you might just want to take a look at this make-it-yourself Bob the Tomato toy. He’d be a great stocking stuffer 🙂

This craft costs less than a dollar and requires less than 15 minutes. It’s very simple to do as he is made out of a tomato pin cushion available at the Dollar Tree (or any craft store). Keep reading to see how I did it.

Bob the Tomato made out of a pin cushion
What you need:

  • Red and White Felt or Fun Foam
  • Black Paint (preferable fabric paint)
  • Glue (I used hot glue)
  • Tomato Pin Cushions (available anywhere pin cushions are sold. I got 2 for $1 at the Dollar Tree.)Package of two pin cushions

Cut out your felt pieces like so. Add black pupils to the eyes. I used regular acrylic craft paint and a brush, but fabric paint would have been much easier. If you are using fun foam instead of felt, a sharpie marker will work great!
