The scapular is made from brown wool rectangles, and it’s worn around the neck. It was given to St. Simon by Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. It’s a sacramental with history dating back to the Old Testament, and Our Lady makes promises to those who wear it, including “Whoever dies wearing this Scapular shall not suffer eternal fire”.
