I love having Catholic books for kids in my home. When beginning your home library of Catholic children’s books, I think it’s important to remember that you can build the library over time, so it’s fine to start small. Here are my Catholic kid book recommendations:
Saint Treasury For Kids
When you’re starting to teach your kids about the lives of the Saints, I suggest starting with a Saint picture book treasury that includes a lot of short stories you can read together. This will give you a good starting place and then you can add to your library of Saint books over the years. You can find all of my favorite Saint books for kids here.
Catholic Children’s Bibles
I also recommend having a good children’s Bible available to read from, as it will also include many stories of the Saints. You can see my post with my favorite Catholic children’s bibles here.
Catholic Children’s Mass Book
Having a missal that kids can easily follow along with during Mass can help them learn about the Mass and pay attention. I wrote a book called The Mass Illustrated By The Masters that is great for children and adults alike to follow along.
Catholic Basics For Kids
For anyone wanting to make sure your kids have an all inclusive foundation of the Catholic faith, I hands down recommend Tell Me About The Catholic Faith. You can find it here along with my notebooking pages that work for kids of all ages.
Rosary Book For Catholic Kids
I love having some rosary books available for kids for rosary time, especially small books that can stay in the rosary basket and have all of the mysteries illustrated for the kids. I’m hoping to write a post soon with several options, but my favorite is this Rosary In My Pocket Book. I love the illustrations.
Catholic Journaling Bibles
I am such a huge fan of Bible journaling, and I am so excited there are finally some specifically Catholic note taker’s Bibles available! You can find my favorites here.
