The fish is a strong Christian symbol. After all, we are all called to be fishers of men. I have a special round up of Jesus fish crafts here, but today I am going to give you some options for fish crafts in general. Be sure to scroll to the bottom for my “craft without shopping” section where I list fish craft by the main supply you need to make it. Here are some easy fish arts and crafts for kids! 🙂
Fish Crafts For Preschoolers
Here are some fun crafts that your preschoolers should be able to do mostly independently and be successful with!
If you’re willing to crack out the paint, I think these celery printed fish look absolutely perfect for preschoolers! What fun! Find this project over on Crafty Morning.
From preschool to lower el, the older the child, the more complicated the patterns could be for this one! I love a good resist project, as it’s always easy to be successful with them. Plus, you can’t color outside the lines of this one because your paper is shaped like a fish, ensuring that every child has a successful project! Check out this fish resist craft over on Our Kid Things.
I always love a good craft that is a fun process and grows the motor skills of little ones! How fun does this foil fish craft look from I Heart Arts N Crafts. I want to make one!
Pool noodle crafts are super great for a classroom environment because they are SO CHEAP! You can get a pool noodle at the Dollar Tree for $1 and slice it into enough for a whole classroom. Check out this pool noodle fish craft from Glued To My Crafts Blog.
Fish Crafts For Lower Elementary
These paper fish are cute and simple to make! You can find these over on The Craft Train, and I think this would be good for an assortment of age groups.

Monthly Liturgical Membership
Crafty Morning has this super cute weaving fish craft. I love the color in this one! Due to the cutting and weaving, I’m recommending this to a slightly older age group than the preschoolers.
These Popsicle stick fish from Glued To My Crafts Blog also looks fun and cute!
Fish Crafts For Upper Elementary
These toilet paper tube fish from The Craft Train came out super cute! And this is a great project for recycling as well. Kids should be old enough to cut and paint to complete this project.

These look great! I especially like the second image, it’s captured the reflective aspect and the colours brilliantly. Looks like great fun for children to have a go and experiment with different shapes and colours. Thanks for sharing!
I would like to make the fisher of men fishing for the words faith love greed etc… is it free printable?
Hi Linda –
I’m not sure which printable you’re asking about. I don’t see anything like that in this post. Can you give me the URL where you found that project?
Thanks,
Angie, Catholic Icing Project Manager
Love this craft idea especially with a video tutorial for this visual learner!! I’m going to try this craft, but switch it out to Jonah and the big fish. Just need to find a printable Jonah cut out to tape and precut for my 2s/3s church class. 🙂 Thanks for sharing!!
