How To Draw A Monstrance

I was trying to decide what to draw for my weekly Catholic how to draw video, and Lydia suggested a monstrance! And ya’ll… when your 13 year old has an interest in something you’re doing, you take that suggestion! lol! So this week I bring you… how to draw a monstrance, step by step for Catholic kids.

You can find all of my Catholic how-to-draws here, and be sure to check back because there is a new one each Friday! I am super excited about this new resource for Catholic kids and I am excited to see where it goes.

This is a great activity for Catholic kids when learning about the Eucharist, and for First Holy Communion classes. This would also be a great thing to draw for a First Communion banner! Go ahead and draw yours now!

In this video I use my Prismacolor brush tip artist markers to color this in and you can find some here. I have been using Prismacolor markers since I was 14 and I absolutely love them!

I am also including this as a free printable coloring page of the monstrance drawing. This is for anyone who just wants to color or for little siblings that aren’t quite ready for the drawing part yet. So if anyone was looking for a monstrance coloring page, wish granted! And it’s free!

  1. Hello Lacy,

Thank you very much for these How to Draw videos (and for all of your things too). My five year old daughter and I looked at them all together for the first time the other day and she spent two hours in a row just drawing and drawing and drawing. I worked nearby in the kitchen and could hear the videos. There was such a peace in our home as she drew to the sound of your gentle instruction and information about the devotion/saint she was drawing. I felt like we were in a monastary! I myself was moved as I heard little tidbits about the saints, and most especially by the Miracle of the Sun news reports. It is a very beautiful thing to draw things about God and the Faith while peacefully receiving instruction and catechesis. So thank you!!!!!!!
