I am still loving these drawing these weekly Friday how to draw videos for you guys! This week I decided to make a video for how to draw The Holy Name Of Jesus which is perfect for this time of year. The feast of the most holy name of Jesus is January 3, and in the Catholic church the entire month of January is dedicated to His holy name! This step by step video makes drawing the holy name of Jesus really fun for kids, so I can’t wait to share it with all of you today.
You can find all of my Catholic how-to-draws here, there is a new one each Friday. I love getting your messages about how much your kids are enjoying these videos- it really keeps me going. If you want to be sure not to miss any how to draw videos in the future, be sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel!
This is a great activity for Catholic kids when learning about Jesus and the bible. This lesson is so fun because you actually learn how to draw Jesus’s name in negative space, which looks super cool and makes somewhat of an optical illusion. I start with a super easy version, then a slightly more complex version, then yet another even more advanced video. So this one truly has something for everyone!
Go ahead and draw the most holy name of Jesus now using my how to draw video below.
I am also including this free coloring page of the most holy name of Jesus in negative space so your littles can just color along if they are too small for drawing, or in case they just don’t want to draw it themselves. They can fill in the negative space with whatever pictures or colors they want, and Jesus’ name gets left on the paper in white! The possibilities are really endless with this coloring page.
You can see here how I used the negative space on the coloring page to draw in symbols and stories of Jesus, which was super fun!

I hope this resource helps your kids learn about the most holy name of Jesus this month with your kids! Learning to draw letters like this is really a fun experience for kids and once they learn how they can write all kinds of awesome stuff.
I also have a version of this where you can actually make a negative space Jesus craft out of popsicle sticks that I think is super awesome, so be sure to check that out if you’re feeling crafty.
And for your littles, you may want to try my magic name of Jesus name reveal which couldn’t be easier and more fun for kids! They will love it.
