Most Beautiful Nativity Books For Children

Every year our family loves to do a lot of nativity crafts and activities at Christmas time, and reading the Christmas story to my kids from beautiful picture books is one of my favorite ways that we celebrate the true meaning of Christmas! Today I wanted to share my absolute favorite and most beautiful picture books that are specifically about the nativity with you. This is not an overwhelmingly long list, these are just our tried and trues, so whatever you pick from this list I am sure your family will treasure it as ours does. So here you go- my most favorite beautiful nativity books for children

Mary Did You Know is a picture book that goes through the lyrics of that well known song, and illustrates some of the things Jesus grows up to do. I love helping to connect baby Jesus with grown up Jesus for kids! Very sweet little book.

St. Francis And The Nativity is one of my favorite nativity picture books, and the illustrations are so beautifully well done! I highly recommend it.

Room For A Little One is another beautiful picture book that tells the story of Christmas from the perspective of the animals in the stable. Another favorite of ours!

An Angel Came To Nazareth is another one that does a beautiful job of telling the Christmas story in a way that keep’s children’s attention. Again, beautiful illustrations.

The First Christmas by Jan Pienkowski. It’s a beautiful picture book with the Christmas story illustrated through silhouettes, and the story is told biblically.

  1. I have to add “This Is the Stable” by Cynthia Cotten. So beautiful — text and illustrations both.
