Noah’s Ark Craft- Number 2

Catholic ABC’s Week 2
Number of the week: 2
Theme: Noah’s Ark
Memory Verse: Genesis 7:15 “They went into the ark with Noah, two and two of all flesh in which there was the breath of life.”
Craft: Noah’s Ark

Noah's arc made out of craft paper with a pipe cleaner rainbow and animal stickers on a paper strip bridge

Materials needed for Noah’s Ark “2” Craft:

  • Brown and Black construction paper
  • Glue Stick
  • Crepe Paper
  • Animal Stickers
  • Assorted Pipe Cleaners
  • Scissors

Start by drawing these shapes onto construction paper and having your preschooler cut them out. Lydia (age 4) was able to cut all the shapes by herself other than the windows.

Using a glue stick, help your preschooler assemble their ark.

Draw the outline of the door and the number “2” on the ark with a pencil and have your preschooler trace over it with a marker.

Help your preschooler attach your crepe paper in a strip at the bottom and stick the animals on 2 by 2.

Have your preschooler bend the pipe cleaners into a rainbow shape and help her attach them to the back of her ark with some tape.

Catholic ABCs Curriculum

Catholic ABCs is a hand-on curriculum full of crafts, printables, worksheets, saints, learning, and more for preschoolers and kindergartners. There are over 2,000 pages that you can use for multiple school years! (This is also a great supplement for 1st and 2nd graders.)

While you’re helping your preschooler work on her craft, tell the story of Noah’s ark, and then have her tell it back to you. You can help her remember the details by asking questions. “What did the bird bring back in it’s mouth?”

We also made up this little song to sing! (tune “The Ants Go Marching”)
The animals marched on two by two hurrah, hurrah!
The animals marched on two by two hurrah, hurrah!
The animals marched on two by two,
On Noah’s ark they made a zoo!
And they all went marching on- to the ark- to get out of the rain,
Boom, boom, boom….
