The feast of Our Lady of Fatima is May 13, and the anniversary of the miracle of the spinning sun is October 13! Celebrating these feasts with Catholic kids is super fun, and I especially love telling the kids the REACH of that miracle! It happened in front of the eyes of over 70,000 people and gained attention worldwide! It is still one of the most famous miracles of all time, and a great day to celebrate with your kids. 🙂
I actually made a live facebook video showing how this craft is very easily assembled, so feel free to check that out! 🙂
Materials Needed:
- Printable 3D Our Lady Of Fatima Download
- Cardstock or Paper
- Scissors
- Tape
- Something to color with (if you choose to print in black and white)
That’s seriously it! Not glue to dry or nothin’! 😉
It prints on 3 pages, and comes in both black & white AND in color, so you can choose if you want to color it yourself or not. Each tier of the Our Lady of Fatima diorama is on a separate layer of the diorama, which adds dimension.

Start by printing out your 3 pages, and coloring them if desired. This is going to be best printed on card stock, but regular paper will work if you don’t have any. I am still out of card stock, because Wal-Mart is out. (face palm)
Then, trim off the outside edges. Do NOT cut off the white flaps on the “foreground” piece. You need them.
Next, go ahead and fold all the rectangles right down the middle, making a nice crease.
Now is the only slightly tricky part. You’ve got to cut out the middle pieces on the “foreground” and “middle-ground” pieces. If you’re OCD, you’ll want to place your paper on a cutting board, and cut out the middle meticulously with an Exacto blade. For the rest of us “normies” (tongue in cheek) just fold the paper and make a slit in the middle of the area you’re removing.
Now you can stick your scissors into that opening and trim out the middle piece as well as you can.
It really doesn’t have to be perfect- mine isn’t.
Now is the fun part! Lay your “background” piece down first. Then take your “middle-ground” and place it on top. Line up the outside edges and bottom, then use 2 small pieces of tape to fix it at the top and the bottom of the left and right side.

Do the same thing to the other side. The background will be sticking out farther than the middle-ground- that’s how it’s supposed to be.
Now take your “foreground” and fold the white side flaps back.
These 2 edges wrap around the edges of your other piece and get fixed with tape in the back- again, just a small piece at the top and one on the bottom. Do both sides.
Voila! It’s stands up! Instant Our Lady of Fatima diorama!
And it also stores flat, which is awesome. You’re welcome, moms. 😉
These can also be taped end to end to make a circle centerpiece. I actually designed and created these back in the Fall and have failed to ever post them (another face palm) along with about a MILLION other awesome things in my computer that I just haven’t had time to post!!! lol. So more Mary dioramas are a-coming. Stay tuned as always. 😉

My kids are loving this craft right now! Thank you for helping us celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Our Lady of Fatima today! My 7-year-old boy keeps saying, “I really love this!” as he dances around with his beautiful new craft project.
Now, if only you’d stop teasing with the other 2 dioramas of Our Lady (Lourdes and Guadalupe??) that are peeking in one of the above pictures… 🙂
Fabulous!!! my daugther was so happy doing this project.
thank you,
Excited to print it out for my son to do! Thank you!! <3
Is there any way I could pay for this without using PayPal?
Tricia – PayPal is the only option for payment, though you don’t have to have a PayPal account to use it.
Conversely, if it’s a security issue, you could get a prepaid Visa card and use that through PayPal without a PayPal account.
We miss you! (I think that expresses a lot of people’s sentiment!) Hope you are doing well!
